Hatchet Music is New Zealand’s only publisher specialising in music for the classical guitar. With a focus on New Zealand music, Hatchet Music represents the guitar works of leading composers Anthony Ritchie, Michael Calvert, Philip Norman, John Ritchie, Mike Nock, Louise E Matthews and Kenneth Young.

Each composer has their own collection and the cover of each edition features a spectacular image of New Zealand landscape from Pieter du Plessis Photography. All works are edited by Matthew Marshall.

Scores are available for purchase in high-quality print format and some are also available as PDFs upon request. Prices are in New Zealand dollars inclusive of shipping worldwide.

Hatchet Music invites submissions from composers wishing to have their guitar works edited, published and distributed nationally and internationally. Hatchet Music Ltd is a division of the New Zealand Guitar Foundation and was founded in 2017 by leading New Zealand guitarist Matthew Marshall.
